Meet Me!

I’m Roli. ABlogByRoli is my passion baby.

It’s my tiny corner of the internet where I share my travel stories, tips and hacks with you.

Under Planning: Sharing behind the scenes of what it takes to build and run a travel blog!!

So stay tuned if you are a travel enthusiast, have your blog, or planning to have your blog. I would love to connect with you.

To give you a little bit more information about who I am, see below for 9 things you probably didn’t know about me:

I’m a Graduate of Computer Science

I came to the United States of America in 2014 for my Master’s in Science. I took my first international flight, and I remember the feeling of coming to a new country all by myself. That was my first solo trip, you can say !!

I used to live in India and traveled a lot with my Family

Before I could afford to travel on my own (and before I came to the United States), I lived in the Central part of India and went on countless trips to different states in India.

My Dad and I love planning trips. My whole family is crazy about Animal Safari.

After coming to the USA and landing my first job, I jumped back into my passion for travel and began traveling with friends.

Then, I met the love of my life, who loves traveling (like the world was giving me directions). So here I was, pleased to follow the path of the Universe. I started traveling the world one place at a time.

Harry Potter is my absolute favorite movie series of all time

My sister and I are obsessed with Harry Potter movies (we got a matching tattoo that says ‘Always’ – if you know, you know), and we can watch one anytime.

Dare not say anything wrong about the movie, haha!! We are a bit sensitive when it comes to HP.  It’s the BEST MOVIE EVER. A big thanks to J.K. Rowling for bringing this story into our lives.

My first trip abroad was to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic)

While studying, I visited Niagara Falls, Las Vegas, and many other places in the USA, but the first one abroad was after my marriage to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

I can never forget that trip. Before returning home, I walked up to the beach and sat there. I did not want to go back home. But, I convinced myself that it was only the beginning, and I committed to myself that I would plan something every year to travel to the foreign lands.

I have the best travel buddy.

As you may have seen from my Instagram stories or pictures, I usually travel with my best friend and husband, Sapan.

He is the one who primarily takes care of our budget and bookings for the trip. Our trip begins even before we are there. We watch informational videos, read blogs, plan itineraries, and book activities days.

We’ve been to Mexico and many states of the USA and always seem to have our next destination lined up. We are planning to travel abroad more.

I prefer road trips

When deciding how to explore a place, I prefer road trips, if feasible. It lets me explore at my own pace and pick my own places. This allowed us to explore many hidden gems in our various road trips.

We made some fascinating road trips in the USA- a fall trip from Vermont to Maine, a California-1 highway from SFO to LA, an Arizona road trip from Phoenix to Las Vegas, Puerto Rico and New Jersey to Massachusetts.
Our most favorite road trip until now is ICELAND – Ring road

I’ll never say NO to a Sunrise.

I love sunrise so much. Whenever I travel somewhere new, I scour the internet for nearby sunrise points and make sure I catch a beautiful sunrise.

I love dramatic landscapes. It makes the sunrise look even more beautiful.

I started this blog for two reasons:

INSPIRE OTHERS TO TRAVEL THE WORLD

Hearing people’s travel stories and plans makes me very excited. Whether you are about to take a road trip through Arizona or just went on a chilled vacation in Mexico, the buzz born out of travel is reviving and contagious.

With this blog, I hope to inspire more people to get out there and see the world. Life is too short to keep putting off that dream vacation.

BUILD SOMETHING OF MY OWN FROM THE GROUND UP

There’s something about having a dream and taking steps to accomplish it. Developing this travel blog has pushed me to continuously learn new skills and improve upon the ones I already have. I’ve met new people, improved my writing ability, increased my mindfulness, and become a better photographer.
